Asturias travel photos

Asturias, a green region in the northern Spain, is a lot of different to our classic image of Spain. It is a land of jagged mountains, remote green mountain valleys, rugged coastline, delicious regional cuisine, ancient cities and temperate climate. With its tropical greenery, eucalyptus trees the blue Cantabrian Sea it feels like a strange hybrid of Mediterranean islands and the more temperate climes of northern Europe. The epic range of limestone mountains, especially the Picos de Europa, attracts walkers and climbers from all over the world. Asturias is also characterized by the locally produced cider and a traditional cider-drinking ritual that goes back centuries. The Asturian coast is dramatic and beautiful, ideal for surfing. Asturias has more than 185 miles of coastline with more than 200 beaches. They stretch from the border with Cantabria in the east, to the border with Galicia in the west.
