Japan travel photos
Japan (The Land of Rising Sun) has a lot of to offer, from the history of geisha, samurai, ninja to sushi, miso, green tea, zen gardens, comics, … I have experienced the biggest cultural shocks here. It is actually a country of islands. The main island is Honshu, the other three large islands are Hokkaido to the north and Shikoku and Kyushu to the south. More than 4,000 smaller islands surround the four largest. Japanese longest railroad tunnel and high-speed trains (known as shinkansen, or bullet trains) connect major urban areas. About 73 % of Japan is mountainous (most of the mountains are volcanoes), and all its major cities, except the ancient capital of Kyoto, cling to narrow coastal plains. Only an estimated 18 % of Japan's territory is suitable for settlement, so Japan's cities are large and densely populated. Being extremely earthquake prone Japan has an average of 1500 earthquakes every year. Vandalism rates in Japan are among the least in the world.
