Croatia - Island Hvar travel photos
Croatia with its gorgeous coastline and over 1,100 islands is one of Europe's top seaside destinations. It is a country of beautiful historic walled cities, spectacular Roman ruins, imposing castles, unspoilt national parks and some of the clearest waters you’ll find anywhere on the Adriatic. Croatia is the largest of the four republics of the former Yugoslav republics. The countryside has mountains in Dalmatian and Istria, which is in the west. In the east, the Pannonian Plains is flat and fertile.
The island of Hvar is the queen of the Croatian Dalmatian islands and it has been famous since the antique because of its important strategic and nautical position, the rich of the various historical periods, the culture and natural monuments and the literature. Thanks to the mild climate, the warm winters and pleasant summers Hvar receives many guests, climbers and travellers. For more information about rockclimbing in Hvar see Cliffbase.com.
